DEPARTMENT OF MECHANICAL ENGINEERING
The Department of Mechanical Engineering at Hasan Kalyoncu University stands out with its modern educational approach that integrates theoretical knowledge with practice. The language of instruction is Turkish, and great importance is placed on English in order to prepare our students for the global engineering world. While students develop their general language skills through the two-stage English courses taught over one year, the “Professional English” course gives them the opportunity to learn and use the technical terms of mechanical engineering.
In our department, students learn the industry's leading engineering software, such as SolidWorks (CAD/CAM) and ANSYS, throughout their education, and thanks to their proficiency in these programs, they have the advantage of finding employment directly after graduation.
Our Department of Mechanical Engineering places great importance on applied education. Through the mandatory 20-workday internship program implemented each year, our students:
In the 1st year, gain fundamental engineering skills through direct contact with the CNC machines, machining equipment, welding systems, and other production equipment featuring up-to-date technology located in the Mechanical Engineering Laboratory at our university. 👉 We invite our prospective students who wish to get to know this advanced equipment and working environment more closely to visit our laboratory.
In the 2nd and 3rd years, find the opportunity to apply their theoretical knowledge in real production environments through internships carried out at industrial organizations.
The pinnacle of this process, the CO-OP (Workplace Practice) Program, is implemented in the spring semester of the final year, and our students gain substantial work experience before graduation by working full-time for 15 weeks at an organization in the sector.
Mechanical Engineering graduates have a wide range of employment opportunities. They have the opportunity to work as engineers in public and private sector organizations, particularly in fields such as energy systems, renewable energy, production and manufacturing technologies, the automotive sector, and machine design. In addition, strong career opportunities await them in R&D centers, project offices, and technical consultancy.
Our department stands out with its young, dynamic, and strong academic staff. Our faculty members produce scientific publications at both national and international levels and, at the same time, provide quality education by working one-on-one with students.
Students who choose the Department of Mechanical Engineering open the doors not merely to an engineering diploma, but to a career equipped with practical competence, software knowledge, and sectoral experience.
