Vertical Transfer (DGS)

What Is Vertical Transfer (DGS)?

The Vertical Transfer Examination (DGS) is a centralized examination administered by ÖSYM that enables graduates of associate degree (two-year) and open-education vocational programs to transfer to related undergraduate (four-year) programs. Candidates who hold an associate degree, or who are eligible to graduate in the year the examination is held, may apply.

Based on their DGS scores and the conditions announced in the ÖSYM preference guide, candidates are placed in undergraduate programs at Hasan Kalyoncu University. Placement results are announced by ÖSYM, while enrollment procedures are carried out by the university.

How the Process Works

  • Examination and application: DGS application, the examination, and program preferences are handled by ÖSYM via osym.gov.tr.
  • Placement: Candidates are placed in programs by ÖSYM according to their DGS score and preferences.
  • University enrollment: Placed candidates complete their enrollment at Hasan Kalyoncu University within the schedule announced by ÖSYM.

Enrolling at HKU

Placed candidates may complete enrollment in one of two ways. Only one of these methods needs to be completed.

1. Electronic enrollment via e-Government (e-Devlet)

  • Enrollment can be completed via e-Government (turkiye.gov.tr) without visiting the campus.
  • Students who are not placed with a scholarship are required to pay tuition at the designated rate; fully funded (full-scholarship) students complete no financial transaction at this stage.
  • Students who enroll electronically must deliver the documents required for final enrollment to the Student Affairs Office within the announced period.

2. In-person enrollment

  • The candidate may enroll by visiting the university with a valid ID, or through a representative authorized by a notarized power of attorney.
  • Students wishing to benefit from additional discounts beyond the ÖSYM scholarship (such as a sibling discount or martyr/veteran family status) must apply in person with the required documents.

Documents Required for Enrollment

The principal documents requested at enrollment are listed below. For the current and complete list of documents, please refer to the ÖSYM enrollment guide and the Student Affairs Office.

  • Associate degree diploma or temporary graduation certificate
  • DGS result and placement document
  • Course transcript and course content (syllabi)

  • Passport-style photographs (with student information written on the reverse)
