Aviation Management

The Faculty of Aviation and Space Sciences at Hasan Kalyoncu University provides education in 2 departments: Aerospace Engineering and Aviation Management. The Department of Aerospace Engineering began admitting students in the 2022-2023 academic year, and the Department of Aviation Management in the 2025-2026 academic year.

Department of Aviation Management

The Department of Aviation Management admits students from the equally weighted score field. It aims to train experts who have full command of national and international aviation standards (ICAO, IATA, EASA, etc.) and can manage airport, airline, and ground handling processes with a holistic perspective. Its duration is 4 years/8 semesters, and the language of instruction is Turkish. The curriculum has a versatile structure that blends fundamental business administration and economics disciplines with courses requiring sector-specific expertise, such as aviation operations, airline and airport management, flight safety, aviation law, and financial management. Our department is included within the scope of training programs authorized by the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (SHGM). In this context, our students acquire SHGM-approved qualifications before graduation and, by taking the relevant authorization exams, can obtain the certificates required to meet sector needs at no additional cost. In order to support theoretical knowledge with practice and to ensure integration with the sector, great importance is attached to applied training, and the curriculum includes a defined summer internship in the spring semester of the 3rd year so that students can experience the academic knowledge they have acquired in a real work environment.

Employment Opportunities

Our graduates can work in airline companies, airport operators, ground handling organizations, air cargo and logistics companies, civil aviation authorities, maintenance and technical service organizations, as well as institutions and organizations operating in the defense industry and the aviation sector.

They can also pursue careers in different areas of expertise such as operations management, flight and ground operations planning, airport management, safety and quality management, revenue management, marketing, human resources, and strategic planning.
