Gastronomy and Culinary Arts

The Department of Gastronomy and Culinary Arts approaches gastronomy not merely as the production of food and beverages, but as an interdisciplinary field situated at the intersection of culture, science, art, and tourism. Our department aims to train individuals who are well equipped in the areas of culinary applications, gastronomy culture, food science, nutrition, and food and beverage management; who can think creatively, who are innovative and inclined toward teamwork, and who possess professional ethical values. Our educational approach, nourished by the rich gastronomic heritage of Gaziantep, enables our students to evaluate local values from a universal perspective.

Our graduates can find the opportunity to work in hotels, restaurants, cafes, patisseries, catering businesses, food factories, and various other areas of the food sector, and can also establish their own businesses. In addition, they can take on roles in developing career fields such as gastronomy consultancy, product development, gastronomy tourism, food styling, food photography, and gastronomy writing. Our department prepares its students for both sectoral practices and academic and entrepreneurship-oriented career opportunities.
