Civil Engineering

The Department of Civil Engineering at Hasan Kalyoncu University aims to train engineers equipped with a contemporary engineering mindset who can compete on a global scale. Our language of instruction is English, and the goal is for our students to acquire international-level communication and professional competence.

Our department, where the language of instruction is 100% English, is accredited by MÜDEK and EUR-ACE. It thereby certifies that it provides quality education in line with national and international engineering standards.

After 7 semesters of theoretical and laboratory education, students of our department take part in the COOP (Applied Training in Industry) program in the 8th semester. In the CO-OP system, our students receive applied training by working for one semester at companies that have agreements with our University, and gain the opportunity to establish close contact with the sector.

Our academic staff consists of 1 professor, 4 associate professors, and a total of 9 faculty members who are experts in their fields, together with 2 research assistants. Our strong and experienced staff provides students with a quality engineering education.

Through the Erasmus and Erasmus+ programs, our students have the opportunity to take courses and complete internships in European Union countries as well as non-EU countries. In this context, they gain the opportunity to get to know different cultures, acquire international experience, and improve their foreign language proficiency.

Our department's Geotechnics, Structures, Transportation, and Materials laboratories are actively used by students and our academic staff. These laboratories are, in general, actively used in courses in the undergraduate curriculum that include laboratory work, as well as in graduation thesis studies.

Within the scope of the collaboration between our University and Kalyon Group, various employment opportunities are offered to graduates of our department. This collaboration helps our students step into professional life quickly and effectively after graduation.
