Computer Engineering
The Department of Computer Engineering, which has broken new ground in the developments of modern science and technology and shaped the information age we live in, holds a central position among all engineering disciplines. Computer Engineering is the branch of engineering that covers the structure, design and development of computer systems and the use of these systems.
Our department aims to train computer engineers who have fully grasped the theory of computers and computer systems, who love design and creativity, who can continuously renew themselves, and who can produce solutions beneficial to humanity.
Our department, where the language of instruction is 100% English, has been accredited by MÜDEK and EUR-ACE. It thereby certifies that it provides high-quality education in line with national and international engineering standards.
After seven semesters of theoretical and laboratory education, our students take part in the CO-OP (Cooperative Education in Industry) practice in the 8th semester. In the CO-OP system, our students receive applied training by working for one semester at companies that have agreements with our University, and gain the opportunity to establish close contact with the sector.
Through the Erasmus and Erasmus+ programs, our students have the opportunity to take courses and do internships in European Union countries and in countries that are not EU members. In this context, they gain the opportunity to get to know different cultures, acquire international experience and improve their foreign language proficiency.
Computer Engineers can work as systems analysts, systems engineers and systems programmers in all public and private organizations operating in the fields of administration, education, industry, commerce and health services. They can also work in various banks, holdings and large-scale industrial enterprises, as well as in software companies, as research and development engineers, design engineers, communication-network engineers and web designers.
